Mother's Day Card - Doubling Hearts
“Upon seeing the positive sign on my pregnancy test for my second child, joy filled me. However, amidst the excitement, a pressing question emerged: How would I manage to raise two when handling one was already a challenge? My eldest, just two years old, remained heavily reliant on me. We were practically homeless, having recently acquired a new house that was still in the early stages of interior development. This question lingered in my mind, becoming even more daunting as I entered the third month of pregnancy, coinciding with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The subsequent six months became a delicate balance of finding happiness and planning for the new addition while navigating the uncertainties of a secluded and vulnerable existence. The second question arose: Could I love my second child as much as my first? Would my heart have room for another?
After a straightforward nine-month pregnancy, though awaiting the nerve-wracking negative result of a COVID test, our second boy arrived. Despite the uncertainties, the pandemic chaos, and a world in disarray, my heart unexpectedly grew, doubling in size.”
